Description
This is Gated Tomb Decatur Cemetery. I took the digital photographs in this collection at the Decatur Cemetery, in Decatur, Georgia, USA in 2004 with my Olympus camera. I worked on them in a computer graphics program. This collection of fine art photographs is brilliant. Even though the location/subject matter one which many people find uncomfortable, (a cemetery) the end result is a collection of fine art photographs which are engaging, easy to look at and conversational. I found that photographs such as these make the subject of the cycle of life - birth, life, death... or transition - to be more approachable, easier to explain, and acceptable. Through my research, I have found that the macabre (having death as the subject matter) has garnered enormous interest and is finding its way into collections, globally.

Thank you. It is my goal to take the fear and fright out of the cemetery. And, what a great way to begin -- by producing colorful, vibrant fine art photographs which people will want to hang even though it is a place most know as taboo.
