Description

The Girl Iti (pronounced ee-tee) is a contemporary, mixed media, figurative portrait, measuring 51 inches high by 36 inches wide. It is done on tarpaper. I created this multi-layered painting in 2012. The composition offers depth, texture, movement, and blending of colors. Girl Iti is a portrait of a winking girl with pursed lips and a short haircut exists in the forefront and also blends into the background. The girl was painted with the use of broad brushstrokes over a textured under-painting. There are veins of black running throughout the composition. The cool color palate is rich in brilliant blues and greens.
