Description
I took this sepia photograph of this dirt road which was off another dirt road in Moultrie, Georgia in 2004.
Enjoy these images of south Georgia's jewel, Moultrie. I spent time in Moultrie as a Touring Teaching Artist. The people were as sweet and kind to me as the images are lovely. The children were welcoming, creative, and bright lights that shall shine in my heart forever. I dedicate this piece to my student... the soulful writer... Andrew Dampier and his beloved grandmother, Mrs. Dampier.

This feels both dirty and hot. And right.
Cleaster Cotton replied:
Hi Odd. You are right... it was all three of those experiences... all rolled up in one. Many emotions stirred up as the nearby cotton fields whispered stories of my ancestors in the winds. During my six-week teaching artist residency - with middle school youth - I also had some of the most memorable moments of my career as an educator. Heartfelt, human, humbling. Peace. ~ CLE
