Description
I photographed this busy bee in December 2004, in Moultrie, Georgia, while touring as a Teaching Artist for the Georgia Council for the Arts.
My middle school students pointed the bee out to me, during a writing exercise in a lovely, outside art garden. The challenge was that the students had to use their five senses to experience their environment and write about it in total silence. LOL. I nearly busted out with laughter, as I watched them writing with urgency because they could not talk about it. They saw their world through a different lens. This activity pushed them beyond their previous creative writing skills. They were proud of the work resulting from the challenge and so was I. When the challenge was over, they all started talking to me at once. Each one wanted to pull me over to what they had seen in the garden of art and nature. LOL. We had such a fabulous time! I shall cherish these memories always.
During the time I spent time in Moultrie, the people were sweet, kind and caring.
Please enjoy these images of Moultrie southern Georgia's jewel.
