ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Art is my journey to freedom. I love the powerful healing qualities of art and the way it embraces and joins people across the planet like global glue. Art nurtures children to grow into creative, productive, well-adjusted adults and grows adults into innocent children with uncharted imaginations.
CLEASTER COTTON: On The Topic Of Color… is a collection of contemporary primal acrylic paintings. Each tells a story in its abundant symbolism.
While viewing a painting, move around and look at it from different perspectives and in different lighting. Layers of colors will move...

“I love the versatility allowed me by acrylic paint. I use it the same as I would water color, ink, or oil.
Releasing my attachment to outcome frees me, in general. It also frees me to present you with honest artistic offerings. There are no boundaries unless we set them. Living outside of the comfort zone is not for the faint of heart. However, the results are delightfully rewarding. I give thanks to my ancestors… the brave souls who have gone before me.”

Contemporary Primal Pop Artist Cleaster Cotton, has created a collection of new works entitled: "COLOR GIRL... IN THE SOUTH RIVER."
Cotton, who has been coined, "The First, Ever Exo Political Artist," presented the first, ever Exo-Political Art Exhibit in May of this year at CityMac CityMug in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. "COLOR GIRL... IN THE SOUTH RIVER" is a selection of mixed medium paintings, with a focus on color and texture. Layers and glazes take their cue from lighting - affording an almost three dimensional affect, as you view Cotton's paintings from one position and then the next. You are drawn in. The slightest change in your position and/or the light provides you with the illusion of multiple paintings all in one - as one layer falls to the background and another comes to the...
